DJs or musicians are not only creating sets or sound in order to please their audience, what they do is also a performative process. During this process, when audiences can change their position in a place, DJs and musicians have to focus on their performance in order to keep the connection alive between sound and audience. This connection has to maintain.
This act of creating can be seen in their facial expression as excitement, happiness, and tension, which can be read upon their face right before their performance. The exhausting process of being on stage and keeping the connection between themselves, sound and audience turns into relaxation on their drained faces after their performance.
This series of Polaroids is based on capturing the portraits of various DJs and musicians both before and after their time on stage.
The aim of this project is to see traces of their performances upon them, as we all see every now and then.
